Records players are cheap, plentiful and easy to come by. I understand if you're living in a shelter or your car; but if you can get yourself a Nintendo Switch, an IPad, a PS4 and a laptop, there is no reason why such a self-respecting Hip-Hop head shouldn't have a record player. Trust me, there's no reason to be intimidated by the various models, features, etc. Unless you're a hardcore DJ, you really don't need to know about types of drives, needles, etc.

Hi Werner,
ReplyDeleteI didnt said Groove Attack went bankcrupt, they had to get new investors, so they sold 50% of the company of.
Since than GA is stronger than ever, they are #4 in Germany right now, just after the 3 Majors Universal, Sony and Warner. If we talk Rap music they are stronger than some of those majors. There was a shift in the German market.
The audience in Germany is today more interested in German rappers than in US underground rappers. So Jay Z and Eminem are still important here, but all the Afu-Ras or Akbars have more or less a problem these days.
GA is investing in German rap these days instead of underground US rap.
Keep up your good work.
Sorry, I kinda ranted through that vid, ha ha. Nice to hear GA is still kicking over there even if they've left the US scene. That was a good run in the late 90s/early 2000s, though, when they were releasing the Supperappin comps, Biz, Mr Complex, Del, Phife... That's the time we'll all remember here in the US.
