Records players are cheap, plentiful and easy to come by. I understand if you're living in a shelter or your car; but if you can get yourself a Nintendo Switch, an IPad, a PS4 and a laptop, there is no reason why such a self-respecting Hip-Hop head shouldn't have a record player. Trust me, there's no reason to be intimidated by the various models, features, etc. Unless you're a hardcore DJ, you really don't need to know about types of drives, needles, etc.

have you heard the onra album "long distance"?
ReplyDeleteIt does the boogie sampling thing at least in my opinion much better but then I tend to dislike 99% of modern hip hop.
Yeah, but Onra isn't hip-hop (no raps, no cuts); and he does this weird slowing/ distortiony thing to his songs that I'm not feeling. It's like the chopped and screwed version of 80's R&B pop with a hint of club music. Plus I'm really not feeling his drums...
ReplyDeleteAt least the songs I've heard; I haven't explored his full catalog, just some stuff on Youtube. But I'm pretty sure that includes some Long Distance tracks.
