Records players are cheap, plentiful and easy to come by. I understand if you're living in a shelter or your car; but if you can get yourself a Nintendo Switch, an IPad, a PS4 and a laptop, there is no reason why such a self-respecting Hip-Hop head shouldn't have a record player. Trust me, there's no reason to be intimidated by the various models, features, etc. Unless you're a hardcore DJ, you really don't need to know about types of drives, needles, etc.
Click this link to read my short & sweet Guide To Getting Yourself a Record Player... and join the real Hip-Hop nation already. It's good times over here.
They reference Mystikal's "Shake Ya Ass", which came out in summer of 2000, in the clip you played. So this record of yours is definitely from the 2000's.
ReplyDeleteYeah - I didn't catch that, but you're right. That'd make this almost certainly 2000-2001.
DeleteWithout having heard it, I'm pretty sure, after the QB Finest album, Lord Black made another appearance on "A Chronic Tribute To Dr. Dre" - a random 2007 compilation album of Dr. Dre cover versions which featured a lot of Queens MCs, but also artists like Layzie Bone or Yukmouth . According to my own little discogs, Lord Black is featured on the song "Bitches Ain't Shit" alongside Diplomats rappers Un Kasa and Sheist Bub and Queensbridge rapper Mike Delorean. I assume it's the Lord Black from Black, Rock & Ron, as there are that many Queens rappers on it.
ReplyDeleteYo... you have just pointed out more than you realize. Check out my next vid once it uploads tonight. 8)
